In response to the needs of women affected by the recent floods in Khagrachari, Affasa partnered with the Umbrella Organisation to launch the Sanitary Napkin for Women project, and later, a few allies also joined and helped the team to contribute more support in emergencies. The main objective was to address menstrual health needs by providing sanitary napkins to women affected.

Due to the geographical location of Khagrachari and the severe impact of the floods, accessing certain areas posed logistical challenges. In particular, some regions required travel by boat, making it difficult to ensure timely distribution. Despite these hurdles, the distribution efforts were effectively carried out with the cooperation of local volunteers and the resilience of the Affasa team.

Challenges Faced: Due to the geographical location of Khagrachari and the severe impact of the floods, accessing certain areas posed logistical challenges. In particular, some regions required travel by boat, making it difficult to ensure timely distribution. Despite these hurdles, the distribution efforts were effectively carried out with the cooperation of local volunteers and the resilience of the Affasa team.

The contribution from the Umbrella Organization has been crucial in reaching over 650+ women, providing them with much-needed sanitary napkins during this challenging time. As the Communication Coordinator of Affasa, I sincerely thank the team and the women of Khagrachari for your unwavering support.
